 MTG was the permit engineer for a Type IV MSW landfill in Houston. The landfill is 50 acres in size and contains more than 2,000,000 cubic yards of Type IV solid waste capacity. All preliminary engineering studies including site design, drainage, wetlands and transportation to ascertain the feasibility and cost of developing the landfill were conducted. Size, life and cost estimates were used to determine the final configuration.
After completion of the preliminary engineering, the final landfill design and permit documents for review and subsequent approval by the Texas Natural Resource and Conservation Commission (TNRCC) were prepared. All drainage improvements were designed to relate to the requirements of the Harris County Flood Control District and the NPDES.
